5 Things I Have Learned From My Mentors About Internet Marketing

For the past few months, I have had the privilege of being mentored by master internet marketers, Chris and Susan Beesley. The former accountants and business coaches have built a very successful online business and willingly share their expertise with others. Here are 5 very important things that I have learned from them.

1.Everything you do must give massive value to others Chris and Susan have shown me the importance of first giving value before ever attempting to sell anyone. For example, they give away a free internet marketing boot camp that offers invaluable training for which people would gladly pay. It’s simply the Law of Sowing and Reaping. You must sow first.

2. Stop trying to drink form a fire hose! The internet is full of information on internet marketing, much of it bad or self-serving. Find one system and stick with it. Spending all your time looking for the next new thing is only going to distract you and keep you from making internet income.

Once you have your system, ignore all other information. Getting stuck in information overload is not going to help you. When I first check my email every day, I immediately delete all offers without reading them. This has been one of the best things that I have learned.

3. There are no geographical limitations Chris and Susan live in the UK. I live in Florida. We use Skype to talk face to face across the miles. For those of you unfamiliar with Skype, it is a free program that allows you to talk with anyone in the world for free as long as they have Skype on their computer. I use the built in camera and microphone on my computer so that I am able to see Chris and Susan as well as speak with them. You can download it at http://www.skype.com.

What does that mean for you as an internet marketer? You can do business anywhere in the world using the tools that you have on your computer. You can create an international business, instead of being limited to your own geographical location. This means that you have access to many more people than you could ever imagine. Offer them something of value and watch your subscribers increase.

4. There are no age limits The internet has created a level playing field for us all. With some basic computer skills, you can create a successful internet marketing business no matter what your age.

Have you ever watched little kids on a computer? They seem to know instinctively how to use it because they aren’t afraid to experiment. Teens and twenty somethings have created multimillion dollar online businesses.

On the other hand, you are never too old either. Chris and Susan are baby boomers who at first, questioned whether or not they were too old to start an online business. After creating a hugely successful business, I am sure they are happy that they took on the challenge.

5. Stop trading time for money If you are currently exchanging your time for money, find a way to leverage your time. As a professional musician and music teacher, I did it all of the time. I would spend an hour giving a voice lesson to one person when I could be reaching countless people in the same amount of time. You only have so much time in a day to make income so why not leverage that time so that you multiply the money you make each hour!

The way to do this is to find a system and work it every day. Systems and consistency plus perseverance create wealth. Here’s to you, internet marketer. May the information in this article serve you well.
